With the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo all having their best seasons yet, the question is which one is the most talented player in the league?
The question is one that has dogged Italian football fans for years, and the answer is not so simple.
The Italian side is currently on the verge of winning the title, with Inter, Napoli, Juventus and Lazio all currently within striking distance.
With the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid still two months away, the spotlight will be on the best Serie A players in the coming months.
The team that finishes on top in Serie B is expected to be crowned the best, while the team that takes second in Serie C will likely be crowned third.
The first round of the competition will be held in February, with the winners getting a place in the next season’s Champions League.
However, for the most part, it will be down to the players to decide who will get to represent Italy in the World Cup in 2019.
With Italy set to play Germany in the first leg on February 10, the players will be looking to be the ones to beat the Germans, while also hoping to earn a place at the finals.
That is what the latest Serie A statistics show.
There were five Serie A teams in the top five, and it was the Juventus who ended up in the group of death with a 6-2 victory over Napoli in the last eight minutes.
This season has been one of Juventus’ most impressive in terms of goals scored and assists, with goals from Mario Mandzukic and Gianluigi Buffon and assists from Zlatani Ibrahimovic, Andrea Pizzi and Leonardo Bonucci all helping the Serie A champions secure a sixth straight Serie A title.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, finished fourth in Serie D and they are currently third in Serie E, with a record of 11-4-3.
Napoli have been one to come out on top of the group stage with their four-game win streak, with Antonio Cassano and Andrea Piazon both scoring two goals each.
It is clear that the likes on Juventus, Inter and Napoli are on the up, but it is also clear that all of them are not as good as they were last season.
There are some striking stats from Serie A to reflect this.
In the last ten seasons, the most prolific goal scorer in Serie J is the current Inter Milan player, Marco Verratti.
The Inter Milan man is currently third on the Serie B goalscoring list with 29, but he scored only three times in his last four Serie A matches.
The goalscorer of the year is Alessandro Florenzi, who is currently eighth on the list with 17, with seven goals.
Another player who has scored a lot of goals is Alessio Romagnoli, who scored 15 goals last season, while Juventus’ Diego Milito has scored 12 goals in the competition so far.
There have been some notable departures from Serie J this season, with Marco Verlatti and Alessio Florenzer leaving the club in the summer and Giorgio Chiellini leaving the Nerazzurri for the San Siro.
Juventus have also been making moves in the transfer market, signing Mario Mandzi from Genoa, Paulo Dybala from Lazio and Zlatanic Ibrahimovic from AC Milan.
Napier, meanwhile have managed to keep their best player, Gianluki Lascelles, at the club despite rumours of a transfer to Manchester United.
The Bianconeri were on the brink of signing a deal with United, but the deal fell through due to lack of money.
They are hoping to get a better deal for Lascelle in January, however, and have been linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Pepe Reina, who has played alongside Ibrahimovic.
In fact, Juventus have already received offers from several Premier League clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Manchester City and Liverpool among those who have been mentioned.
Ancelotti has also said he will be interested in bringing back Diego Godin from Inter Milan this summer.
